Tracy St. John is one of my favorite authors and it's looking like Clan Companions is going to be another fantastic offshoot of the Clans of Kalquor series. I love the world building in the Kalquor books. I've have been hoping Joseph would get his own book since he was introduced in Alien Caged and was not disappointed in this book. This author does really well with continuity of world building and the world of Kalquor just keeps getting more authentic with every book.Each of her characters is so well developed that sometimes I think I could spot them when they pop up, even if she didn't remind the reader who they were. Their style of speaking and personalities make each character unique and interesting.As always this was read in one setting as I just couldn't stop turning the pages until the HEA. The M/m paring didn't disappoint in terms of heat, romance and action. Though seeing the earthers get their HEA with a wealthy prominent clan is exciting in its own way, I particularly enjoy the stories involving regular folks living their lives. It easier to see it all in my mind's eye.I highly recommend all the Kalquor series from start to finish. I've read every single book and love them all. Books by this author are immediate buys for me and I can't wait for the next book! This is the only one of the Kalquor series that tells the story of an Earther male with a Kalquorian, and that makes it sweetly unique. We first learned of Joseph and Simon in "Alien Slave", and then in one of the later books he is mentioned again as he came to trial and was sentenced to two years in a psychiatric facility. I've wondered about him since then, so it was wonderful that Tracy St. John decided to write his story. Joseph and Almon's love story is sweet and sexy, and suspenseful. Their experiences and emotions of trying to get free of Joseph's stalker ring true, telling the very real tale of frustration and fear that victims of this very serious and very scary crime experience, through the medium of fiction. It's realism makes the story that more relateable. A worthy addition to the Kalquor series. I am hopeful more characters of good human makes are included in future books in the series, especially gay human males, as they carve a unique niche for themselves in Kalquorian society.
